About Bodh Gaya

Bodh Gaya is where Prince Siddhartha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree, making it the holiest site in Buddhism. The Mahabodhi Temple complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Nearby Rajgir and Nalanda complete the circuit — the hills where the Buddha preached and the ruins of Nalanda, one of the world's oldest residential universities.
